No. Nothing is taken from below the photic zone. Every marine, salt and mineral note is constructed in the laboratory from synthesized and renewable materials. The hadal zone is our reference point, not our supply chain.

Descent is the fall from sunlight to open water — green citrus over vetiver and wet stone, brighter and more vertical. Hadal is the floor: cold amber, black salt and a heart that arrives hours late. Most people wear Descent in daylight and Hadal after it.

Yes. A two-millilitre discovery vial of either eau de parfum is available at counter depth — the cost of any single vial is credited in full against a 50ml bottle purchased within ninety days.

First burn: let the pool reach the edge of the vessel, roughly three hours, or the wax will tunnel. Trim the wick to five millimetres before every lighting. Sixty hours of burn time, and the glass vessel is meant to be kept — it holds a tea light beautifully once cleaned.

We ship worldwide from Reykjavík. Orders leave the atelier within two working days; transit runs two to five days in Europe and North America, five to twelve elsewhere. Fragrance ships as limited-quantity dangerous goods where regulations require, which can add a day.

Unopened items return within thirty days for a full refund. Because scent is personal, an opened bottle may be exchanged once for another composition of equal value — we would rather you wear the right depth than keep the wrong one.

The oil is fragrance-moderated and free of sulphates and dyes, and suits most skin including dry and sensitive. It does turn the water ink-dark — the pigment is a cosmetic-grade iron oxide that rinses from the bath without staining. As with any leave-on oil, patch test first.
